Plans lodged for mixed development near science park

Plans to develop a site near a science park that could see business spaces, shops and a hotel built have been submitted.
Developers want to develop land off Abingdon Road, near Culham and Abingdon in Oxfordshire.
The firm behind the scheme, CEG Land Promotions II, said the site, near Culham railway station, would include improved walking, cycling and public transport routes.
The proposed site, to the east of the Culham Campus, could also see a health club and children's nursery built.
Under the outline application the current buildings on the site would be demolished.
There is yet to be an application submitted for the homes on the site.
The controversial plans on the site were first introduced in the final version of South Oxfordshire District Council's local plan, as part of a blueprint for 22,500 homes to be built across the area by 2033.
A final version of the plan was published in October 2017 when many people called on the Culham scheme to be dropped in response to a consultation.
A planning paper from the applicant said: "The development is making the best and most efficient use of a previously developed site."
The planning paper added Oxfordshire County Council had expressed a desire to minimise parking provision to encourage sustainable alternatives.
The council has not given an expected decision date on the scheme but said all written responses to the application must be received by Friday.
