Dangerous driving arrest after woman dies in crash

A 35-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after a woman died in a crash on a rural road.
Police were called to the A523 Poynton Relief Road, in Adlington, Cheshire at about 07:45 BST after a silver Peugeot 208 and a blue Mercedes A Class collided.
The driver of the Peugeot died at the scene, Cheshire Police said, adding that her family had been informed.
The driver of the Mercedes, a 35-year-old woman, has been arrested on suspicion of death by dangerous driving and remains in police custody.
Police are appealing for witnesses and urging anyone with any information or dash cam footage to get in touch with the force.
