Police are advising drivers to avoid the A30 in Cornwall following the crash

A pedestrian has suffered life-threatening injures in a crash involving a car towing a caravan on a major road in Cornwall.

Police were called to the westbound carriageway of the A30 between Camborne and Hayle, near Roseworthy, at about 23:55 BST on Friday.

The man in his 40s remains in a critical condition in hospital.

The road was closed for several hours while police carried out investigations, but National Highways said it had reopened at about 10:15 BST.
