All you need to know about Coventry's new 10k

Coventry will for the first time host a 10k run alongside its popular half marathon next year.
Organised by not-for-profit event charity Run For All in conjunction with Coventry City Council, the two runs will take place on Sunday 27 April.
"We wanted to provide the opportunity to open up the day to as many people as we can," said Tristan Batley-Kyle, from the charity. "The addition of the 10K is a great way for participants of all abilities to get involved."
The established and inaugural events will together form the 2025 Coventry Running Festival.
What is the Coventry 10k route?
Entrants will start both events on Gosford Street, with the half marathoners getting under way at 09:00 BST, and the 10k following at 09:30 BST.
The 10k participants will head through the city and surrounding areas before looping back to finish at Coventry Cathedral.
Organisers say joggers, walkers and runners are all welcome, and that the events are inclusive and accessible to all.
Run for All co-founder Mike Tomlinson said: "For me, the attraction of the 10k is you set off half an hour later than the half marathon and you get back before they’ve finished."
Will there be road closures?
There will be a number of road closures in place across the city from 04:00 BST on the day.
Organisers have issued a full list of routes affected, external by both the half marathon and the 10k.
Mr Tomlinson said they were keen to minimise disruption for residents who were not taking part.
"Most of [the 10k] will be on the same routes as the half marathon so the inconvenience is less for everybody," he added.
Can I enter now?
Entries are now open, external for the half marathon, with the new 10k event live from 7 October.
Entrants can choose to fundraise for a charity of their choice. There are several partner charities, including Myton Hospice.
All athletes will be given a goody bag and bespoke medal at the end of their respective event.
Coventry residents can receive a £5 discount on the entry price.
