The head of the Methodist church in the Channel Islands is encouraging people to let peace and hope into their lives this Christmas.

The Reverend Dawn Saunders shared her Christmas message for the people in Jersey.

This year's Christmas message from King Charles III is set to be delivered from a former hospital chapel, in a year in which the King has been undergoing cancer treatment.

Ms Saunders said it was important for people to let light into their lives during challenging times.

'Joyful Christmas'

She said: "May this truth fill all our hearts with hope, peace, joy, love and a renewed faith this season and always.

"Wishing you all a joyful Christmas and a peaceful new year."

The Dean of Jersey, the Very Reverend Mike Keirle, asked people to reflect on their hopes as they looked ahead to the new year.

"Why wonder as we celebrate Christmas, what your hopes and fears are as we look ahead to 2025, as we reflect on the thrill of hope that is offered to every single one of us," he said.
