Warwickshire Police have renewed an appeal for witnesses after a cyclist died after being hit by a car on the A46, and have written to the owners of hundreds of vehicles which passed nearby.

Israr Hussain, from Coventry, was discovered on the southbound carriageway with serious injuries at around 21:20 GMT on Tuesday 11 November and died.

The incident happened between Stoneleigh and Kenilworth.

The force said it had still not been able to identify the vehicle that struck Mr Hussain.

Insp Michael Huntley said: "As part of our investigation, we have however identified nearly 500 vehicles passing through the area in the timeframe leading up to him being discovered."

Officers have written to their registered keepers, asking whether they were involved in or had witnessed the collision, had seen a cyclist on the A46 beforehand or had any dashcam footage from the area between 21:00 and 21:30.
