Two pregnant ewes sustained dog bites after they were seen being chased by dogs.

The incident took place in a field in Woodchester, near Stroud in Gloucestershire, at around 12:30 BST on Thursday.

The two dogs were described as being German Shepherds or Alsatians, and the man with them was described as being white and wearing a scarf.

Gloucestershire Police released an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident. The force is also reminding dog owners that livestock worrying is a crime and physical harm does not need to be caused for animals to become distressed.

Livestock worrying can cause significant financial loss to farmers and anyone who witnesses an incident is being asked to report it to police.
