Police witness appeal after woman bitten by dog

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was bitten by a dog while waiting at a set of traffic lights in Kent.
The incident happened in East Street, Faversham, at about 16:00 BST on Wednesday.
A stocky dark brown dog on a lead leapt up and bit the woman’s arm before a man holding the lead allegedly swore at the victim and walked away, police said.
PC Sophie Rumsey said: “While the victim was protected from injury by thick clothing, we are concerned that another member of the public or a child could have come to harm.”
The man is described as white, in his 20s, about 5ft 10in (1.77m), of slim build and with several missing teeth.
He was wearing dark blue jeans and a dark coloured hooded top, police added.
His dog was about 3ft (0.9m) and wearing a black collar with some gold detail.
PC Rumsey added that the dog involved was allegedly “out of control”.
“We are keen to trace the dog’s owner and are urging witnesses to call our appeal line,” she said.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has information is urged to contact police.
