Fowey harbour is in the running for the title of Destination of the Year for visiting cruise liners.
The Cornish port faces competition from Dubai and Tourism Kingston, in Canada.
Fowey's "outstanding achievements and contributions" to attract and host cruise ships were praised by the organisers of the Seatrade Cruise Awards 2024.
Staff at Fowey harbour said it was "fantastic" to be a finalist in the Destination of the Year category.
The official nomination message read: "Fowey’s outstanding achievements and contributions stood out among a high standard of nominations this year.
"This is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and excellence in your field."
Fowey is a regular port of call for cruise liners from all over the world.
In September 2023 The Spirit of Adventure, operated by Saga Cruises, became the longest and heaviest ship to moor up in the harbour.
She weighs about 60,000 tonnes and is 236m (775ft) long.
Harbour master Captain Paul Thomas was delighted by the nomination: "This is a fantastic accolade for Fowey Harbour.
"Although only a small port in Cornwall, we guarantee the warmest of welcomes and are proud of the amazing choice of bespoke experiences that we can offer cruise passengers."
The winners will be announced in September at the industry convention, Seatrade Cruise Med 2024 in Malaga, Spain.
