A care worker has been jailed for 11 years after admitting having sex with a vulnerable young disabled woman.

Naguib Lootfun, 69, was sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court on Wednesday after admitting three counts of sexual activity with a mentally disordered female. He was given an additional four years on extended license.

Police were called to a care home in Maidstone on 8 May after a condom wrapper was found on the floor of the victim's room.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said the attacks on a victim who was unable to consent were "utterly sickening and horrendous".

Lootfun claimed the wrapper had fallen out of his pocket during a shift.

But searches of rubbish bins found two used condoms on which his and the victim's DNA was found.

His DNA was also found in her room.

Daniel Harrison, from the regional CPS, said: “This was an utterly sickening and horrendous case involving someone that the victim trusted, who abused that trust in the most appalling way.

“The victim was unable to consent to sexual activity in any way because of her disabilities.

"Lootfun was fully aware of this, having worked at the home for some time and looked after her.

“Perhaps the most disturbing aspect of this case is the significant planning that went into it and the way that Lootfun attempted to cover up his crime, carefully disposing of the used condom within plastic gloves in the waste."

Det Ch In Neil Kimber from Kent Police said: "Lootfun completely abused his position of trust and committed abhorrent acts against a vulnerable person, who was unable to defend themself, nor subsequently report the offences.

"He knowingly took advantage of the victim’s vulnerabilities and even fabricated an excuse for the evidence pre-emptively, to cover his tracks."
