Waste collection changes over festive period

Residents in Cornwall have been warned of changes to waste collection dates over the Christmas period.
Cornwall Council said amendments have been made over the festive period to avoid some households "waiting over two weeks for a collection".
It said residents who subscribe to its garden waste collection service will be eligible for Christmas tree removal.
"Households with a subscription should put their tree out beside their bin or bag on their garden waste collection day," it said.
It is the first year the council will be collecting food waste for recycling from "most households".
The council said no amendments will be made to waste collections on Monday and Tuesday.
It warned changes to normal collection dates will be in place between Christmas day and 4 January.
"We want to avoid anyone having to wait more than a couple of extra days," a spokesperson said.
