Man arrested on suspicion of double murder

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering two men who died after a shooting in Wolverhampton.

Duaine Mills, aged 28, and Syed Zain Ali, 32, died after the shooting in Leicester Street at around 03:10 BST on 19 September.

Police arrested a 38-year-old man in the Birmingham area just after 10:00 GMT on Thursday on suspicion of their murders.

A man aged 34 was arrested at the same time on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both men remain in custody.

Senior investigating officer Jenny Birch said: "These arrests are a significant development in our investigation, and the families of Duane and Syed have been updated.

"Our thoughts remain with them at this time, and we will continue to support them."

Police continue to appeal for anyone who has information about the murders to get in touch.
