Police probe after 'possible human remains' found in Loch Lomond

Detectives have launched an investigation after the discovery of "possible human remains" in Loch Lomond.

Officers said the alarm was raised close to Rubha Dubh, at Firkin Point, at about 12:40 on Saturday.

The remains were removed from the scene for analysis.

Officers, a police van and a forensics vehicle remained at the scene on Monday.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Extensive inquiries are ongoing."
