Sea search suspended off West Sussex coast

HM Coastguard coordinated the operation off West Wittering

A search for a person reported missing in the sea involving coastguard, RNLI and police has been suspended after several hours.
HM Coastguard coordinated the response off West Wittering beach in West Sussex which began at about 11:30 BST.
A coastguard spokesperson said late on Tuesday afternoon: "Nothing has been found and the search has now been suspended pending any further information."
Coastguard rescue teams from Selsey and Littlehampton were sent, together with a search and rescue helicopter, a fixed wing aircraft, and RNLI lifeboats from Hayling.
Sussex Police was also in attendance.
