Two people were taken to hospital after an alleged assault at a Guildford nightclub.

Surrey Police said they were called to reports of a man in possession of a knife who had been detained by security at Popworld in Bridge Street in the early hours of Sunday, 2 March.

An 18-year-old from Farnham has since been charged with serious assault, possession of an offensive weapon, threatening a person with a bladed article in a public place and two counts of assault, the force said.

He will appear at Guildford Crown Court on 4 April.

A spokesman for the force added that the two people who received medical treatment have since been discharged from hospital.
