Man arrested after house fire released on bail

A man being questioned in connection with a house fire that left two people in hospital has been released on bail.

Firefighters were called to a property in Portman Road, Ipswich, just before 05:20 BST on Tuesday.

Two people suffered smoke inhalation and also sustained leg fractures after jumping from an upstairs window.

A 24-year-old man arrested in connection with the fire and taken to the Martlesham Police Investigation Centre has now been released on bail, Suffolk Police confirmed on Wednesday.
