Extra London train services laid on for Posh fans

More train services will stop at Peterborough on Sunday to help football fans get to Wembley in time for the EFL Trophy final.

Thousands of Peterborough United fans are expected to travel from the city to London King's Cross when their team face Birmingham City.

LNER has also said it will add an extra return journey to and from the city to help it cope with the extra passengers.

It is advising fans to arrive at Peterborough railway station in plenty of time on Sunday morning and to book their seats in advance.

A queuing system will be put in place at the station to manage the number of passengers.

An additional morning service will depart Peterborough at 10:26 BST, while an extra evening service will depart King's Cross at 20:26, LNER said.

The company is advising all fans to regularly check for travel updates throughout the day.
