Two people, including a 91-year-old man, have appeared in court charged with sex offences at a children's home in West Yorkshire.

Malcom Phillips of New Imperial Crescent in Tyseley, Birmingham, is charged with 32 offences, including rape and indecent assault, relating to seven victims between 1976 and 1994.

Linda Brunning, 65, from St Peter's Avenue in Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire, faces 15 charges relating to three victims between 1980 and 1994.

Both were granted bail at a hearing at Bradford Magistrates' Court earlier and are due to appear at the city's crown court in February.

The charges follow an inquiry launched by police in 2018 into allegations of abuse at Skircoat Lodge Children's Home in Halifax between 1970 and 1995, according to West Yorkshire Police.
