Staffy visited once during 15-month stay at kennels

Sasha the Staffordshire bull terrier is fully toilet-trained, despite her history, the RSPCA said

A dog who was starved and neglected by its previous owners has only been visited by one family since being put into a rehoming kennels more than a year ago.
Sasha the Staffordshire bull terrier was taken in by RSPCA inspectors in June 2024 after being found "trapped in a home with no escape".
The three-year-old could not access the garden to go to the toilet, but would be punished and refused food and water for going inside when she was desperate, the RSPCA said.
She has spent the last year at the charity's Suffolk Central branch in Martlesham, which is keen to help her find her forever home, not least given she has now been at the site longer than any other dog currently in its care.
"She has only had one family come and see her, which then fell through, so we're desperate to keep pushing her name and story," the RSPCA said.
"We are desperate to find this sweet, loving girl a home before her fourth birthday next month - we would hate to see her celebrate the last two birthdays in rescue."

According to the RSPCA, Sasha is completely toilet trained, loves her walks, "flourishes" in a home environment and enjoys snuggling on the sofa at bedtime.
She is clean, walks well on a lead, but must be muzzled due to her reactions to other dogs. However, she loves to explore new places which do not have many other dogs present.
"Sasha has shown us she has the ability to have controlled social walks with suitably matched dogs, but adopters must be patient," the RSPCA said.
"[But], she is incredibly intelligent and enjoys her training, so everyone involved will have fun too."

Before being removed from her previous owners, she would look up at them with "so much love and desperation" – but it was never reciprocated.
"She was given no access to the outside but had to watch everyone else in the house, including another dog, have the freedom of doing so whilst she was left behind for hours on end," the RSPCA said.
"Our inspector was heartbroken to see how skinny she was but still had so much love and trust to offer.
"If you're a Staffy lover and ready to accept numerous toys being placed on your lap then Sasha could be your perfect match. She is desperate to find her forever home."
