A woman has been charged with the murder of a man who is believed to have died of stab wounds.

John Hardy, 68, was found with serious injuries at a property on Sceptre Place in Elswick, Newcastle, at 18:30 GMT on Monday.

He died a short time later, Northumbria Police said.

A 62-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with his murder and was due to appear at Newcastle Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
