Road closed as crews deal with lorry fire

A lorry fire caused a section of the A1 to be closed in Nottinghamshire.

National Highways confirmed the closure of the southbound carriageway between the A1 (M) near Blyth and the A620 near Ranby at 03:24 GMT on Tuesday.

The authority added emergency services including Nottinghamshire Police and Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service were in attendance at the scene.

At 10:00, National Highways confirmed one lane had reopened as clear-up work continued.
