A railway line in West Sussex will be closed all day on Sunday to allow level crossing resurfacing works to take place.

Buses will replace trains between Three Bridges and Horsham, meaning neither Southern nor Thameslink services will run throughout the day.

Southern trains will run between Horsham and Bognor Regis, while Littlehampton/ Portsmouth Harbour and Ore trains will call at Three Bridges to provide bus connections, the rail firm said.

Trains between London Victoria and Portsmouth Harbour will run to an amended timetable and be diverted via Hove.

Elsewhere, work continues on the Redhill to Tonbridge line ahead of its reopening on Tuesday following a ten-day closure.

Network Rail is currently renewing 13 miles (20.9km) of high-voltage power cables between Nutfield in Surrey and Leigh in Kent.

So far, it has laid new rail between Edenbridge and Medhurst Row and installed a new steel pile wall to strengthen the railway embankment near Edenbridge, it said.

The work is being undertaken in response to disruption caused by landslips in recent years.

Buses will replace trains between Redhill and Tonbridge until 05:00 BST on Tuesday morning.
