Hugo the cat is looking for a forever home for the second time

A "perfectly imperfect" cat is looking for his forever home for a second time after he was placed back into RSPCA care.

Hugo the cat was adopted six years ago, but was returned to the charity's Martlesham animal centre in November due to his anxiety and toileting.

The RSPCA said his unusual appearance, attributed to a facial deformity, did not affect his day-to-day activity but made him "a brilliant character".

Donna Rich, cattery supervisor at the Martlesham centre, said: "We have been desperate to find him a loving home."

Hugo is "a sensitive soul" and a "sweet-natured" cat, the RSPCA say

The six-year-old cat was originally rescued as a stray kitten on the streets of Ipswich.

He had been adopted, but was returned after his owner became pregnant and found it difficult to manage Hugo's toilet issues.

The charity said the cat struggled with bladder health and anxiety.

However, they said his appearance had not affected him.

Ms Rich said: "If anything, his perfectly imperfect look just adds to his brilliant character.

"Since Hugo was returned to us in November, we have been desperate to find him a loving home where he will feel calm and confident.

"Hugo is a gentle and sweet-natured cat who deserves his second chance at happiness.

"However, he is quite a sensitive soul and finds certain things in the world scary."
