Part of Coventry’s canal will be illuminated on Wednesday night, in an event that aims to showcase its architecture and history.

Coventry Canal Basin, a site that marks the end of the canal and contains historic warehouses, will be transformed with lighting, projections and a live performance from 19:00 GMT.

The performance will take place on canoes in the canal.

The event is being put on by companies including Ludic Rooms, an arts organisation based in the city.

The projections will take place on 11 spaces around the basin’s main warehouse

The projections will take place on 11 spaces in the basin’s main warehouse, which was once a delivery hub for goods coming into Coventry.

Anne Forgan, co-artistic director of Ludic Rooms, said she hoped to highlight the warehouse’s features and “give people a sense of what a special building it is”.

Audiences would be able to walk along the canal and look up into the bays, she added.

People can book tickets for Wednesday’s event on Ludic Rooms’ website.
