PC who drove pregnant woman to hospital meets baby

A police officer who helped ensure a baby could be safely delivered at hospital has met the newborn for the first time.
Tonbridge PC Ronnie Barrett was at the scene of an incident in Hectorage Road where a car had hit a stationary vehicle.
He was approached for help by Ollie Clarke, whose wife Abbey had gone into labour.
Due to road closures in place around the incident, the couple were unable to get to Pembury Hospital, until PC Barrett gave them a lift in his patrol car.
He has now met baby Willow, a month after he helped bring her into the world on 15 March.
The couple said: "When telling our family the journey of our little girl’s full arrival, it soon appeared that we had the coolest birth story ever and that it needed to be remembered."
They said paperwork given to them with PC Barrett’s badge number would be put in their family memory box.
Another officer, PC Liam Wright, arranged for the couple's car tyres to be cleaned of oil due to the crash, and for their car to be taken to the hospital ready for their journey home.
PC Barrett said: "Being an officer is more than just investigating crime, it’s about helping members of the community to stay safe.
"It was an honour and privilege to help Abbey and Ollie get to hospital in time to meet their daughter."
