Police are looking for a driver who took a man to hospital with serious injuries after he was attacked.

Gloucestershire Police said the "Good Samaritan" drove the man to hospital with significant injuries to his face after he was attacked at a property on Hester's Way in Cheltenham on Thursday night.

Officers said the male driver was flagged down by the victim sometime before 20:00 BST.

Two men from Cheltenham, one aged in his 20s and the other in his 50s, were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and remain in police custody, the force said.

The victim was driven to Cheltenham General Hospital before being transferred to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for treatment, police said. He has since been released.

The force urged the driver to contact them to give details of what he has seen.
