Brooke Road remains closed as damage has been caused to a bridge

A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a two-car crash.

Leicestershire Police said officers were called to the collision on a bridge in Brooke Road, Ridlington, Rutland, at 18:23 GMT on Thursday.

Two passengers in the injured man's car and the driver of the other vehicle also sustained minor injuries.

No arrests have been made and the road remains closed due to damage to the bridge, police said.

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue service also attended with two people rescued and the roof of one car being fully removed.

Police said inquiries were continuing.
