Police who are trying to find a man wanted over the death of a 16-year-old boy have renewed their appeal for information.

Ishmael Farquharson, 33, is believed to have been involved in the death of Sekou Doucoure in July 2021, said West Midlands Police.

Sekou, a former player for Nottingham Forest Football Club, was fatally stabbed in Lozells, Birmingham.

Two teenagers were given custodial sentences in March 2023 after being convicted of his manslaughter.

Officers said their investigation "doesn't stop there", and they were urging anyone with information about Mr Farquharson's whereabouts to get in contact.

Sekou Doucoure was sorely missed by all his family, his mother said

“If you see Farquharson or know where he is, you must not approach him, but get in touch immediately," said Det Sgt Chris Brown.

Sekou was discovered seriously injured and paramedics and officers were unable to save him.

His mother previously said her son had "loved his family and loved football".

"He was a good boy and son who would do anything for anyone. He is sorely missed by all the family particularly his sisters, brother and Mom," she said.
