A Suffolk disability charity has been left in "disbelief" after its "lifeline" minibus used to transport participants had all of its wheels stolen.

They were taken from the vehicle at the Green Light Trust, based in Lawshall near Bury St Edmunds, at some point overnight between Saturday and Sunday.

Operations manager of the charity, Helena Harris, said everyone had been left shocked.

Suffolk Police is appealing for witnesses or anyone in the area with CCTV to get in touch.

A staff member said they found the minibus propped up on wooden stilts.

"It is very, very sad, not just for Green Light Trust but most importantly for our participants," Ms Harris told BBC Radio Suffolk.

"We can't operate without our minibuses because they pick up our participants. We use them to take all our activity stuff to the woods, so it's incredibly important and it's a lifeline for the charity."

Ms Harris said taxis were being used to keep operations going, but the cost was eating into vital funds.

"We are looking at anything we can do to get it [the minibus] back on the road as quickly as possible," she said.
