Detectives investigating the fatal shooting of two men at a lockdown party are urging locals to "do the right thing" and give information on a suspect who is from another city.

Junior Ajose, 36, and Cheriff Tall, 21, were gunned down in Moss Side, Manchester, on 21 June 2020.

No-one has ever been charged over their deaths.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said a suspect they were trying to find was believed to be from Birmingham and anyone who helped the police would not be "a grass".

'Devastated'

The men, who did not know each other, were both shot in the head at the party off Caythorne Street shortly before 01:00 BST and died in hospital.

Det Ch Insp Neil Higginson said: “It’s four years since Cheriff and Junior went to a party and did not return.

"Their two families remain devastated by their losses."

He added: “We know that there were hundreds of people in the car park that night and I’m sure that many people must have seen something, whether that be the full incident or just part of it."

He urged the Moss Side community to work with the force, adding: “When we have worked together in the past, we have achieved great results and if we work together again, we can get justice for Cheriff and Junior.”

Last year a £50,000 reward was announced for key information to catch and convict the killer, which is still on offer.

Several warrants have been issued during the inquiry leading to people being questioned in custody and mobile phones being taken for forensic analysis, GMP said.
