A group of motorcyclists performed high-speed wheelies and doughnuts on a motorway, police have said.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said five riders were reported swerving between lanes on the southbound M3, between junction 3 and Winchester services, shortly before 18:00 BST on Tuesday.

Three men and a woman were later given fixed penalty notices for number plate offences. A bike was also seized for having no tax or MOT.

Police have appealed for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

The group was reported doing wheelies at high speed, and they also stopped traffic in the road works between junctions 3 and 4 as they performed doughnuts in the carriageway.
