A 53-year-old man has appeared in court over the death of a woman.
An "altercation" happened outside the Palace Hotel in Douglas, on the Isle of Man, at about 21:20 GMT on Friday, police said.
Jillian Hughes, from Merseyside, later died at Noble's Hospital.
John Meadows, of Verney Crescent in Allerton, Merseyside, appeared at Douglas Courthouse on Monday charged with her manslaughter.
The court heard they had been visiting the island with family.
High Bailiff James Brooks said due to the seriousness of the charge, the case could not be heard by the lower court and would be committed to the Court of General Gaol on 28 May.
Mr Meadows was remanded in custody and will next appear in court on 9 April.
