A gunman who admitted opening fire at Gerry Hutch's older brother has been sentenced to 22 years in prison.
Michael Carroll, of Bride Street, Dublin 8, admitted possession of a firearm with intent to endanger the life of John Hutch on 2 September 2016.
He also pleaded guilty to attempting to murder another man, Edward Staunton, in March 2017.
Mr Justice Tony Hunt said Carroll was a ruthless and dangerous criminal with a callous contempt for public safety.
He told the court that Carroll had exited a car at Mr Hutch's residence armed with a pistol and a revolver and discharged several shots at the victim as he entered his back garden.
The judge said Carroll had aimed the guns over a gate and wall before firing indiscriminately as Mr Hutch ran through his back garden where his daughter was also sitting at the time.
The court was told Carroll knew members of the Kinahan Organised Crime Group in Dublin who were offering money to target members of the Hutch Organised Crime Group.
Mr Justice Hunt sentenced Carroll to 10-and-a-half years in jail, with six months suspended for the attack on John Hutch.
He was sentenced to 14 years, with two years suspended, for the attempted murder of Mr Staunton.
Michael Carroll has 58 previous convictions which include six robbery and three theft offences as well as convictions for drug offences and possession of knives.
Carroll, who was extradited from the UK, was charged with attempting to murder Edward Staunton on 26 March, 2017 at James Joyce Street in Dublin and at again at Peadar Kearney House.
In that attack, Carroll ran over his victim in a car - knocking him into the air - before tracking Mr Staunton down and shooting him twice as he lay on the ground awaiting help.
Carroll was also originally charged with the attempted murder of 63-year-old John Hutch, in the shooting at his Drumalee Avenue home on 2 September, 2016.
Last March, Carroll instead pleaded guilty to a new charge of possession or control a firearm with intent to endanger life at Drumalee Avenue on the same date.
