Staff have been recruited to run the only school on the island of Herm.

Herm School was closed as part of a trial run by the States of Guernsey in July to provide four students with more targeted education.

However, the decision was reversed in September following a vote.

The States confirmed a teacher and a learning support assistant had been "allocated to work with the children at the provision in Herm".

The predicted cost is £100,000 per student.

The Department for Education, Sport and Culture said it was on track to reopen the school on 1 November.
