Historic bridge damaged weeks after being repaired

A 17th Century bridge in Devon has been hit by a vehicle, weeks after damage from previous collisions had been repaired.
The Grade II listed Denham Bridge near Bere Alston has been closed after it was hit around 22:00 BST on Thursday.
Devon County Council said it believed a tractor and trailer were responsible for "demolishing around three metres of the parapet".
This is the second time the bridge has been damaged by vehicles this year.
The council said it did not know how long the bridge, which spans the River Tavy, would be closed.
It said its teams would assess the damage and liaise with conservation officers.
Any witnesses to the incident are being asked to share information with the council.
