A charity has said it is "absolutely devastated" about the theft of its minibus.

Landywood District Voluntary Help Centre in Great Wyrley, Staffordshire said the vehicle had been stolen on Sunday from its base on Walsall Road.

The minibus was a "vital lifeline" for the most vulnerable members of the community, said the centre, and it could not operate without it.

Staffordshire Police believed the silver Peugeot minibus could be in the West Midlands area.

The centre helps people get out and about and socialising with others in the community, and said the theft will "seriously" affect many of its vulnerable and disabled clients.

It has asked its social media followers to share its post, external featuring an image of the stolen minibus "far and wide" to make the vehicle "too hot to handle."
