The names of 10 people from Nelson who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving their country have been added to the Lancashire town's war memorial.
Among those added to the cenotaph in Market Square are Victoria Cross recipient Graham Thomson-Lyall and Michael Foley, a soldier who died in Afghanistan in March 2012.
Relatives of fallen armed forces members were asked to submit the details of anyone who should be included on the memorial, which was originally unveiled in 2009.
Mike Sutcliff, chairman of the Pendle Armed Forces Support Group, said: "Lots of research was carried out and every effort has been made to ensure all the details on the memorial are now correct."
'Everyone remembered'
He added: "The additional names will be read out at the beginning of the next Remembrance Service in November."
The monument was originally erected by Lord Shuttleworth, and visited on 11 November 2009 by the Duke of Kent.
The original 1,350 names were on the cenotaph from day one, having been researched by military historian Fred Stringer.
Further names were later added following subsequent research.
The 10 newly added names are:
World War One (1914-1918):
East Lancs Regiment: Brown J.S. and Massey H.
Lancashire Fusiliers: Farrow H.
Manchester Regiment: Hudson A.C.
Royal Field & Horse Artillery: Thompson G.J.
World War Two (1939-1945):
Gordon Highlanders: Hickson J.K.
Highland Light Infantry: Read R.
Pioneer Corps: Nutter B.
Royal Artillery: Brown S.
The Queen's (RWSR): Barton W.H.
Councillor Asjad Mahmood, deputy leader of Pendle Borough Council, said: "It was so important that we didn't miss any names of Nelson men and women who were killed while serving their country.
"We wanted to make sure that everyone who should be remembered was added and any incorrect details were amended."
The memorial remembers all those from the town who died while on National Service and in conflicts including both world wars, Korea and Afghanistan.
It was commissioned by the council, supported by the Pendle Armed Forces Support Group and financed by the Nelson Area Committee and Nelson Town Council.
