Firefighters tackle recycling lorry fire

Firefighters have extinguished recycling lorry which was on fire in Devon.

Crews were called to Magdalen Street, Exeter at 06:32 BST.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the blaze involved rubbish inside a refuse lorry.

A spokesperson said part of the vehicle had failed but crews had managed to gain access to the rubbish compartment which was on fire after previously being unable to.

They added advice had been given to the staff and site manager of recycling depot after the blaze.
