A hospital declared a critical incident on Monday after losing its water supply.

Worcestershire Royal Hospital's main building, which houses the acute wards, lost access to fresh water at 12:00 BST.

The hospital's A&E department was not affected as it is in a separate building.

The water supply was restored by 18:00 BST and will be monitored overnight.

Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust had brought in bottled water for patients throughout the day, and staff who did not need to be there were being sent home.

The BBC has contacted the NHS trust for more information.
