New charity half marathon announced

A new half marathon is being launched in Lincoln.
The first race will take place on 5 October 2025 and is being organised by the Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All charity and the city council.
Ms Tomlinson raised almost £2m for charity by taking part in endurance events around the world before her death from cancer in 2007.
The charity said the 13.1-mile (21km) event would complement the annual 6.2-mile (10km) race, which takes place in April.
Run For All added that the race would be open to all "regardless of physical ability".
Entrants will pass landmarks such as the cathedral and castle.
Tristan Batley-Kyle, operations director at Run For All, said: “With the route starting and finishing within the impressive parkland of the Lincolnshire Showground and incorporating parts of the city, we’re sure it’s going to be popular.
“Finishing at the showground also gives participants an added bonus of experiencing an electric atmosphere as they make their way down that final stretch."
Councillor Joshua Wells said the event would highlight "the importance of staying active while fostering a sense of community".
"We are thrilled to welcome the new half marathon to Lincoln next year," he added.
"It’s a fantastic opportunity to showcase our beautiful city to runners and visitors alike."
