Woman who died after Edinburgh disturbance named by police

A woman who died following reports of a disturbance in Edinburgh on Thursday has been named by police.

Ndata Bobb, 43, was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment and died a short time later.

A 55-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with her death.

Det Insp Kevin Tait said: "This is a shocking incident and I would urge anyone with any concerns, or information, to contact police, external."

Police were called to a report of a disturbance at a property in Restalrig Avenue at about 01:00 on Thursday.

The man was taken to St John's Hospital for treatment.

Police said he had since been arrested and charged in connection with Ms Bobb's death and was expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday.

Det Insp Tait said: "Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Ndata at this extremely difficult time.

"Our investigation remains ongoing, however, we are not looking for anyone else in connection with Ndata's death."
