Storm Floris causing disruption to ferry route

The Manxman departure to Heysham left Douglas as planned on Monday morning

Gales brought by Storm Floris are affecting the Irish Sea leading to disruption to ferry sailings between the Isle of Man and the north-west of England.
Flagship vessel Manxman's evening journey to Heysham and overnight return have been cancelled.
Although the morning crossing to Heysham left as scheduled, passengers had been warned of a possible delay to its Douglas-bound return at 14:15 BST due to the conditions.
That followed the scrapping of the Manannan's morning crossing to Liverpool, before the fast craft sailings resumed at 16:00.
The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company said that sailing would run with a "extended crossing time" - meaning it would take 30 minutes longer than usual.
A yellow weather warning was originally in place for wind gusts of up to 50mph (80km/h), but Ronaldsway Met Office confirmed it had now been cancelled as the worst of the weather had passed the island.
A travel advisory on the company website reads: 'Due to the unpredictable forecast for Monday 4th August, there is the possibility of some disruption/cancellations to sailings. Passengers wishing to change or amend their sailings from Monday can do so free of charge.
The government-owned ferry firm said a decision over Tuesday's daytime journeys to Heysham would be made by 06:30.
