People are being advised to keep pets and livestock away from a Devon river after a pollution incident.

The Environment Agency said a chemical had entered the watercourse, a tributary of the River Lew, near Okehampton, late on Monday.

It said the source had since been found and stopped.

Further investigations were continuing and officers remained on site to limit any local environmental impacts, it said.
