Country lane still suffering floods despite work

Turners Lane has been suffering flooding for two years
- Published
A country lane is still suffering flooding, despite work to fix the problem, it has been claimed.
A report to Llanyblodwel Parish Council, in north Shropshire, last month revealed the issue on Turners Lane in Llynclys had been going on for the past two years.
The parish council approached Shropshire Council for help in 2023, but parish clerk Amy Jones said, despite work taking place, the issue had not improved.
Shropshire Council has been contacted for a comment.
The lane links up with the A495 and investigations in August 2023 found the source of the issue was on the nearby Llynclys Hill, which is owned by Shropshire Wildife Trust.
Talks took place between the parish council and the wildlife trust the following year, but the latest report said the issue remained, and delegated a councillor to follow up on it before the winter.
Tom Freeland, head of nature reserves at Shropshire Wildlife Trust, said: "We had not been notified of the ongoing flooding issues at Turners Lane, but are committed to working with the appropriate authorities and locals to address them."
This news was gathered by the Local Democracy Reporting Service which covers councils and other public service organisations.
