The owner of a Greek Cypriot restaurant has said she has been "overwhelmed" with the response from customers after announcing it will close.

Deborah Melkis, who lived in Cyprus for 30 years, opened Meze in Ellesmere, Shropshire, nine years ago.

She said it was with a "heavy heart" that she had come to the decision to shut the restaurant on Cross Street.

She has also closed the four holiday lets next door, but has not given a reason as to why.
