Pete Walls from Angus said: "After three weeks of grey, dreich clouds here in Angus, the clouds broke for an hour or two last night and I had to go out with my camera...and caught the Milky Way above Glen Esk."

Barry Pert from Falkirk spotted this carrion crow enjoying an ice cream at Crammond Beach, Edinburgh.

Jane Reith from Johnstone captured a picturesque moment at Royal Exchange Square in Glasgow.

Nigel Heath from East Kilbride was enjoying a sunrise in Westray, Orkney, when his shot was photobombed by a flock of geese.

Niall MacLeod was on a hike at Loch Muick with his partner when he saw a 12-point stag. Mr Macleod said: "He's is a real beauty."

Charlie McGinn from Helensburgh was almost tempted to take a dip by the magic of the fairy pools at Luss, Loch Lomond. "As the temperature was -1C, I decided to keep warm and opened a flask of coffee instead, sheer bliss."

John Dyer spotted this heart-shaped stone in Braighe, Isle of Lewis.

Heather McPike snapped this photo while enjoying a short break at Glen Rosa, Isle of Arran.

David May enjoyed a training display by the Red Arrows above Tain. He said: "Going on their performance, I do not think much more training is required".

Scott McVicar from Farnham, Surrey, brought his West Highland Terrier, Dougie, to visit the Blackford Hill in Edinburgh. Mr McVicar said Dougie was "very much enjoying his homeland whilst visiting from Surrey".

Steve Kelly from Eyemouth came across this seal relaxing on the rocks at Eyemouth Harbour.

Sylvia Beaumont from North Berwick spotted an Exmoor pony appearing to admire the view at sunset from North Berwick Law.

Bill Cameron from Lochaber snapped this photo at sunrise in Inverlochy near Fort William.

William Dyer captured this image of a "dreich day in Govan", looking across at the Riverside museum.

Adrian Plumb spotted this little red squirrel hunting for nuts and seeds on a fallen log at RSPB Loch Leven.

"If ever there was a case of; right place at the right time, this is it," said Alan Rankin of Carrbridge who spotted the aurora above Dalnahatnach.
