Man seriously hurt in aggravated burglary

Police were called to Mason Avenue in Swallownest on Saturday evening

A 59-year-old man was seriously injured in an aggravated burglary in Rotherham.
South Yorkshire Police said officers were called to reports of a burglary and assault in Mason Avenue, Swallownest, at about 19:20 GMT on Saturday.
Three men got into a property before running away, the force said. The man was taken to hospital. Police said his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
Anyone with information, or who saw anything suspicious in the area, is being urged to contact police.
Sgt Janine Broughton, the officer leading the investigation, said: "I would urge anyone with information that could help us with our inquiries to report it to us, and ask that people avoid speculation online about anyone who may have been involved in the incident."
