Two seriously injured after being hit by car

A man and a woman have been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car.
Officers received reports that a car had collided with parked vehicles before hitting two pedestrians in Oronsay Road in Beaumont Leys, Leicester, at about 10:30 BST on Thursday.
Leicestershire Police said two men had been arrested following the incident.
A police cordon remains in place, and pedestrians are advised to find an alternative route, the force added.
A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drugs.
A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
Both men remain in police custody.
Officers are appealing for anyone with dashcam, doorbell or CCTV footage, or any other information, to come forward.
