A baby boy has died in hospital after being found in a critical condition at a house on Teesside.

The three-month-old was taken to Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary on Sunday after emergency services were called to a property in the Eston area of Redcar, Cleveland Police said.

At the time, Bradley Thomas, 22, from Redcar, was charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He is due to appear at Teesside Crown Court on 5 November.

The force said its thoughts were with the child's family "during this very difficult time".
