'No evidence' of sexual assault by A-road, police say

Detectives investigating a claim that a woman was sexually assaulted by the side of a major A-road have closed the case, police have said.

A woman reported being attacked in a lay-by on the A47 at Brundall, near Norwich, on 30 December, after she stopped to check on the welfare of a man who was seen lying on the ground.

A Norfolk Police spokesperson said: "Following an investigation, detectives haven't found any evidence to corroborate the account reported to police.

"All lines of enquiry have been exhausted and pending any new information, the investigation has been closed."
